Development of the multimodal platform

The trimodal platform (water/road/rail) is an essential element of the autonomous Port in its multimodal dimension. The recent restoration of the gantry and the concession for the infrastructures granted to the company Atrium have allowed a relaunch of activities and a strengthening of the dynamic being promoted on the platform.

But the autonomous Port is keen to further develop the platform’s activities. As part of the Sowafinal 3 call for projects, the autonomous Port is applying to extend the quay wall and the intervention distance of the gantry, rails and storage area. The project will also include the development of a second bimodal (road/rail) gantry powered by solar panels.

In time, this platform is expected to be integrated into a 100 ha logistics center connected directly to the motorway network via a structure over the tracks and the Sambre.
